The clock strikes twelve and I am dancing under a rain of silver glitter and champagne with the man I love. He whispers in my ear and tells me that I have carved a space into his heart. He tells me that we are engineers of love and have constructed a bridge that will never fall or break. As we sway side to side the layers of fringe on my dress sway with me and I can feel him moving his fingers through each layer and pulling me closer. He puts his hands around my face and we kiss. The sound around me fades out and I can feel him slowly pull my left hand up to his chest. A tiny red box emerges from his tuxedo pocket and within its four walls a promise is waiting to be made. I feel the tears fill my eyes and all I can see is his watery profile waiting for my answer. I grab his hand and lay it on my chest; my heart beating a million beats per second, I let it answer for me…

There is something so exciting about New Years Eve. Everything from the champagne and the dancing to that special kiss at midnight, fill the night with memories and hope for the year ahead. However the most glamorous and the most stressful part of New Years Eve is probably the hunt for the perfect dress. Designers Foley and Corinna have come to the rescue. Their beautiful gradient fringe dress is the perfect vintage inspired frock to ring in the New Year.

Fringe itself seems to be slowly creeping it’s way back into fashion. Reminiscent of the flappers of the 1920’s, fringe was extremely popular in a decade where parties were a aplenty and women were slowly breaking free of the their domestic dowdiness.

Today, fringe seems to be adorning everything from handbags to boots to dresses and couldn’t be more perfect for ringing in 2009!

I would like to wish all my darling Vintage Vixens all the best in health and happiness for 2009! May 2009 be deliciously glamorous and full of fabulous vintage finds!
