I mean, we don’t need a good reason to masturbate, but if you want to send us gifts—to help you with some invaluable research—we’re more than happy to participate in your study!
If you’re thinking, ‘I’m intrigued, but what’s this all about?’ let us explain: For years, Womanizer (the sex toy we cannot stop raving about) and Lunette have been working together to fight menstruation and masturbation stigma. Like, hello, women have periods, they are in part the reason you exist, and we masturbate because masturbation is healthy and wonderful – end of story. But since there’s still shame associated with both, and since the full anatomy of the clitoris was only discovered in 1998 – less than 25 years ago, there’s a lot to learn about the relationship!
Right now, Womanizer and Lunette are trying to gather research to see how orgasms may relieve period pain—and they need your help! They are looking for 1,000 menstruating people over the age of 18 who experience period pain or discomfort. What do participants have to do? Over the course of three months, participants are asked to masturbate when they experience menstrual pain coming on. To make this easier, each participant receives a free Womanizer Starlet 2 as well as a menstrual cup from Lunette (together valued at $119 USD).
After each period, participants share their experiences by filling out a short anonymous survey. Insights from the initiative will be shared publicly following the study. Anyone interested in participating can register for the Menstrubation Initiative at menstrubation.com. The deadline for registration is May 31, 2020.
Wow! This actually sounds like a commitment that could enhance our lives immensely. If you’re thinking what we’re thinking—apply now.
