An invitation to try the The Keg’s new Winter Grill menu was just the ticket to lapse me out of hibernation.
It was the first time I’ve been to their King West location, but won’t be the last. It’s polished yet cozy, with the same inimitable level of service excellence I’ve come to expect from The Keg. Our server was a delight. Despite my initial inclination to order the entire contents of the menu, I settled on The Keg’s Stuffed Filet filled with capocollo, jalapenos, feta , dates(!) and wrapped in Applewood smoked bacon. With fries, because I am pregnant and I do what I want.
The steak was cooked perfectly and the dates mellowed the sharpness of the hot pepper. My husband ordered a french onion soup and the monumental Kansas City Strip, finishing it off with a silky crème brûlée. I went for the chocolate brownie. And a (virgin) cranberry mojito. It made the frigid trek there totally worth it. They’ve even added a lobster bisque to the menu.
Winter Grill menu is available ’til the end of March. You should go. We can help with that.
