CuCu Bau Kids is a curated vintage clothing company run by Toronto west-end Moms, Erin Stanfield and Jackie Odette.
Fed up with cheaply made clothing, and wanting a more sustainable option—but one that didn’t compromise on quality or style—the duo started hunting for preloved apparel.”We were tired of the poor quality fast fashion that faced us at the mall, so we started to lean towards more vintage pieces for our kiddos,” they share. “People began to comment how much they loved what our girls were wearing.” That’s when the idea for CuCu Bau Kids was hatched.
Beyond feeling better about their environmental impact, Erin and Jackie enjoy sifting through preloved fashion to find the gems. A quick glance of their Instagram feed, and you’ll feel like you’re back in your own childhood! Cable-knit sweaters, vintage Osh-Kosh overalls, old school Sesame Street, mini Levi jeans: it’s warm nostalgia overload.
This weekend (Feb 22 + 23) they’re hosting a pop-up at the Drake General Store (1151 Queen St W) 12-5 p.m. Swing by and find some cozy knits to help pull your kids through winter, or snag some spring-time outfits that were made for playground adventures.
