It is Spring, and the sun is finally out. Raise the curtains; open the windows and breath in the new life of the season. Around this time of year I am always looking to freshen my home. Buy fresh-cut tulips, cleaning out the closet, and improve the look of my space.

I am happy my attention has been brought to the talents of an up and coming local artist, Anna Maria Potamiti. Her work is fresh and playful, with the rawness of a Jean Dubuffet and the flat inky-ness of Helen Frankenthaler (okay, I also really enjoying stretching that Art History muscle I’ve built over the years).

Anna Maria’s works are composed of ink and pen on small boards. And luckily for us, they come with very, very reasonable price tags. These works are truly lovely.

Anna Maria will also be showing at Basic Inquiry Gallery, beginning Saturday, April 10th from 7- 10pm, 1011 Main Street.
