Toronto Queer Slowdance has all slow songs, all night long! (Okay, there will be some fast songs, too!) This is an inclusive event, meaning you do not have to be queer to show up and have a great time; however, you MUST have an open mind.
DANCE CARDS: These are handmade booklets that contain a setlist of every song that will be played during evening. Over the course of the night, you can “book” certain songs with certain people, and vice versa. Use of the dance cards, is optional. Proceed at your comfort level!
Host Sherwin Sullivan Tjia says, “You have the right to ask anyone you want to dance. But whoever you asked has the right to refuse your request, and not have to give any reason why. Slowdancing is an intimate experience, and Queer Slowdance is all about consensual respect and enjoyment.”
Toronto Queer Slowdance takes place at Dovercourt House (805 Dovercourt Rd. [1 block North of Bloor, 3 blks. west of Ossington]) on Saturday, February 13. Doors at 9:30, dance is from 10 PM – 3 AM. $10 admission includes your dance card!
