On September 6, the Toronto Urban Film Festival kicks off its seventh season of one-minute silent films. These films are played on subway platforms across Toronto, making TUFF the largest commuter film festival in North America, with an average of 1.3 million viewers daily!
There will be over 85 films playing on rotation every 10 minutes, which gives you plenty of opportunities to catch some of these exciting, bold silent films. Running until September 16, TUFF’s films were selected from a pool of over 390 submissions from 35 countries (Canada has 43 in this year’s fest).
If you don’t take the subway (or just can’t get enough TUFF), you can watch the films online or, from September 13 to 15, at The Drake Hotel (1150 Queen St. W.).
Challenging the boundaries for where art should be shared and enjoyed, TUFF is a not-to-miss (and, thankfully, hard-to-miss) event.
