Planet in Focus International Environmental Film Festival

Now, more than ever, attention to the health and sustainability of our environment has been front and centre in so many of our minds. For those looking to learn more or share in these conversations, Planet in Focus’ International Environmental Film Festival is a haven. Now in their 25th year, this year’s lineup features films from Ethiopia, Canada, France and more on a range of topics including water cycles and climate, animal welfare and small-scale farming.

Next Stage Theatre Festival

The Toronto Fringe, one of many fringe theatre festivals held across Canada, is presenting its 17th annual Next Stage Festival! A curated collection of six theatrical works, this year artists are invited to explore what it means to be ourselves in relation to our communities, society, and the universe that contains us all. The Met: Grounded

No need to hop on a plane to catch this New York Opera! Toronto Cineplex audiences can watch a live broadcast of The Metropolitan Opera’s performance of Grounded, an opera that delves into the ethical, psychological and emotional challenges posed by modern warfare, starring Canadian mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo. Based on the play by George Brant, Grounded is composed by Two-time Tony Award–winner Jeanine Tesori and fellow Canadian Yannick Nézet-Séguin will take the podium as conductor. More Info
