Sushi and Sashimi and Cocktails, oh my! Earlier this week, we swung by the Drake (1150 Queen St. W.) to sample their new Après Work menu, a collection of cocktails and mouthwatering sushi that is the perfect post-work pick me up. Whether you need to quickly grab fuel for an event or just unwind before you head home, we can’t think of a better way to do it then with a plate of Red Rice Maki ($5.50) and a French 75 in hand. The food is delicious, but the cocktails are the real treat—at only $8, you’re getting a premium crafted Drake cocktail at a serious steal.

Our favourites? The Old Fashioned, made with Maker’s Mark, and the Blackberry Bramble, which goes extremely well with shedding layers and unexpected sunshine. That, paired with a Tuna Tostada ($7.50) topped with creme fraiche and some Pork Belly Nigiri, and you’ll barely remember you were at work that day. If you’re anything like us, you’ll have a few too many cocktails and end up raiding the General Store and buying supplies for impromptu sculpture projects.

The Drake’s Après Work menu is available Monday to Friday from 4-7:30 pm.
