Looking for a wickedly fun romp this spring?
Based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name, The Witches will take you back. Anjelica Huston is in her glory as the wig-donning Grand High Witch, who hatches a nasty plot to destroy all of the children on earth. When a young boy and his grandmother stumble upon this evil plan, they must figure out a way to put an end to the madness before it’s too late. This was the last film Jim Henson worked on before his death, and though it performed poorly at the box office in 1990, it has subsequently become a cult fave.
The Witches comes to the Revue (400 Roncesvalles Ave) for a special matinee screening at 1:30 p.m. on May 25. Get your tickets here.
