Local theatre seductresses Johnnie Walker and Morgan Norwich and their company Nobody’s Business have taken on Fringe fest, The Rhubarb Fest, SummerWorks, Uno Festival and this Saturday….The Shop under Parts + Labour gets trotted on by No No Pony.
No No Pony is a super-fun & popular dance party that happens just about once a month and it’s BACK! It was conceived one night by Morgan when she was a lil sauced and declared that she couldn’t handle parties without ponies. So they started one and the rest, as they say, is history. DJs Suzie Boo and Magnum P.I. play “Pony” by Ginuwine every hour on the hour, so you have many chances to bump & grind. Neighhhh. In between expect other sassy hits like Lip Gloss by Lil Mama, The Boy Is Mine by Brandy & Monica, 90s hip hop, Elvis and more.
A real pony (and by that I mean a plush pony head on a stick) regularly makes appearances on the dancefloor, at the ATM, motorboating your girlfriend, etc. AND – Johnnie & Morgan may at some point perform a dramatic dance number by the stage. Possibly with backup dancers, dressed up as Rob Ford. It’s been done.
Check out pics from last time! Funds go towards Nobody’s Business, a local theatre company making audiences howl with laughter for 7 years.
No No Pony is at The Shop under Parts + Labour, 1566 Queen St W. This Saturday May 19, 9pm – 2:30am. $5. Dress code: Pony.
