We’re delighted to learn that the Toronto Symphony Orchestra has partnered with CityView Drive-In for three live performances this October (7, 16 & 17). The giant stage and outdoor setting will allow for close to 20 TSO musicians to finally reunite on-stage.
Of all the cultural events that have been wiped out and reinvented due to COVID, seeing the Toronto Symphony Orchestra musicians perform from their apartments has moved us the most. Listening to a lone french horn on ZOOM is beautiful and touching, but also sorrowful. Orchestras really do need to be together.
“We are delighted to be partnering with CityView Drive-In, Toronto’s first outdoor concert and entertainment venue, to bring audiences the music they love. Our musical offerings will appeal to long-time orchestra-music fans, and audiences who would like to explore the orchestral experience for the first time,” said Matthew Loden, CEO of the TSO.
We’re excited to recline our car seats, crank up the volume, and listen to our favourite classical hits. It will be definitely be a surreal and magical cultural moment in time to remember.
