The Toronto Public library is a great place to browse books and magazines, borrow DVDs, sit and think, work quietly, or have a lil moment for yourself on a Sunday afternoon. But did you know it’s also a great place to begin the process of slowly becoming a complete freakin’ wizard with fancy futuristic technology??
The Library’s Digital Design and Technology blog and Digital Innovation Hub is, to use a technical term, off the chain. Practice DJ-ing with top-of-the-line equipment, learn how to use an Arduino, or have a one-on-one appointment with Innovator in Residence Derek Quenneville, a master of 3D design and printing.
Because, oh, did we mention? The Toronto Library is offering FREE ACCESS TO 3D DESIGN AND PRINTING FACILITIES. The coolest, guys. The COOLEST!
Speaking of “the coolest” and “the library” (practically synonyms), this Sunday, April 27th, you can get a full-body scan of yourself transformed into a 3D printed figurine. You heard us… 3D SELFIES! Head over to the Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge St) between 2 and 4:30pm on Sunday to get your #3DSelfie on a first-come-first-served basis. Having fun isn’t hard… etc., etc., YOU GET IT.
