With spring finally here, it’s time to start digging out those go-to pieces and replenishing your wardrobe for warmer weather. From scary cults to Marie Antoinette, we’ve rounded up our five favourite SS11 lookbooks for you to drool over, shop within and get inspired by!
Na Nin Vintage for Need Supply Co.
Na Nin (which means “I am” in Korean) Vintage’s latest lookbook is exactly how we envision spending our summer: picnics in open fields, road trips with our besties, wide-brimmed hats and, of course, pumping gas looking totally hawt. The line pulls inspirations from the late 60’s and early 90’s to create an ever-growing collection of vintage clothing from all over the world and has moved from Etsy to Need Supply Co. Best of all? The pieces are affordable, with most priced around $23 range. http://needsupply.com/lookbook/na–nin–vintage–for–need–supply–co
Twenty8Twelve
Yeah, yeah – Sienna Miller (who co-designs the line with her sister Savannah) can make anything look amazing but this collection nails summer fashion to a t and we want it all! Cutesy shorts, bright prints, slinky dresses and denim make up Twenty8Twelve’s flirty SS11 line, with pieces that can easily go from day at the farmer’s market to night out on the town. http://www.twenty8twelve.com/collection/ss11/lookbook/
Opening Ceremony
Shot by Terry Richardson and modeled by the gorgeous Lindsey Wixon, Opening Ceremony’s lookbook is nothing short of cool. A throwback to the 70’s, the collection is cute and whimsical – from the peek-a-boo dresses to the bold-printed short shorts. Step out in one of these ensembles this summer and you’re sure to get noticed! http://www.openingceremony.us/entry.asp?pid=2499
Chelsea Rebelle
With a name like Rebelle, you’d expect London-based designer Sarah Brannon to take risks with this line – and she does. Entitled “Deviltown,” Chelsea Rebelle’s SS11 collection was inspired by the Manson Family cult and while you’re probably envisioning dark and drab, it’s quite the opposite. Girly dresses, strong shoulders, floral and polka dots, with obvious nods to the 60’s are found throughout her lookbook, worn atop straight-faced, spellbound models. Our favourite element of the collection? Reversible dresses! http://chelsearebelle.com/collections/ss11/
Wildfox Couture
Flipping through Wildfox Couture’s SS11 lookbook is like taking a quick trip to a lavish French chateau to feast on the most exquisite of foods while looking ridiculously made-up and gorgeous (we might just try to make this actually happen this summer). An obvious ode to Marie Antoinette, the collection is full of frilly party dresses, floral tights, over-the-knee socks and flirty T-shirts, and the lookbook was shot in a L.A. chateau with champagne flowing and Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette soundtrack playing in the background. We’ve looked at it over and over and over. http://www.wildfoxcouture.com/collections–spring-2011
