From October 20th to November 10th, the work of Vancouver illustrator Kitty N. Wong will be on display at Café Pamenar (307 Augusta) in Kensington Market.
Wong is a fashion illustrator — but her work always manages to incorporate a narrative. A drawing of Isabella Blow carrying garbage bags full of Alexander McQueen’s 1992 collection, images of shoes girls never wear and the stories behind why they bought them, street style sketches from Art Basel that have an immersive quality (you can almost hear the din of art chatter and smell the spilled white wine). We love Wong’s work, and can’t wait to see it on display.
Opening night is Oct. 22nd, and Wong will be there live-sketching, so show up in a pair of shoes with a story. There will be prints for sale, as well. Which will you go home with?
Shoes/Off: Drawings by Kitty N. Wong. Tuesday, Oct. 22nd from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm at Café Pamenar, 307 Augusta.
