On July 4-8, She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry is coming to Toronto at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema (506 Bloor St W).
Directed by Mary Dore, She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry tells the story of some of the courageous women who founded the modern women’s movement from 1966 to 1971. Featuring one-on-one interviews and plenty of footage from the 1960s and 1970s, She’s Beautiful takes us from to the founding of NOW to the more radical phases today’s women’s movement. Much like the women’s movement itself, the film does not shy away from larger social issues occuring now and then, such as sexual preference and race. She’s Beautiful perfectly captures the thrilling, controversial and scandalous spirit of women’s on-going crusade for equality.
