With THREE outdoor film series in Toronto, you have ample opportunity this summer to catch a flick under the stars. Our handy calendar below brings together fantastic programming from Open Roof Festival, TIFF in the Park and Harbourfront Free Flicks.
HARBOURFRONT FREE FLICKS – Every Wednesday – FREE!
Harbourfront’s FREE Flicks have been a longstanding favourite summertime to-do and auditorium seating boasts a lakefront breeze. This year their programming theme is Rise of the Underdog and includes everything from Napoleon Dynamite to Ellen Page as Bliss Cavendar in Drew Barrymores’ roller-derby coming-of-age Whip It.
TIFF IN THE PARK – Every Wednesday – FREE!
TIFF in the Park and the Entertainment District BIA will present FREE outdoor screenings of classic screwball comedies at David Pecaut Square (formerly Metro Square, next to Roy Thomson Hall) every Wednesday.
OPEN ROOF FESTIVAL – Every Thursday – $15 (No minors.)
At Open Roof Festival you can catch a band and drink a beer. Tix are $15 and screenings are held at The Amsterdam Brewery. They kick off at dusk every Thursday and the scene feels like an outdoor party full of peeps who appreciate culture , just like you.
