On July 8, grab your crew and head to Unruly Bodies, a radical storytelling curated by Margeaux Feldman and presented by With/out Pretend.
In a world that works so hard to control, discipline and punish the bodies of women–especially trans women, femmes, BIPOC women, non-binary folks, and sick and disabled women–how can we begin to celebrate our unruly bodies?
At this event, ten incredible speakers (Claire AH, Tanya Neumeyer, Frizz Kid, Nadia Tan, Ama Scriver, Chantelle Blagrove, Anne Theriault, Margeaux Feldman, Yes the poet and Najla Nubyanluv) will each share a story about their relationship with a body that refuses to act “as it should.” You won’t want to miss this one!
Unruly Bodies takes place on July 8 at The Garrison. Doors are at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 door. Partial proceeds from this night will be donated to the Ocama Collective in support of offering free doula services to those in need.
With/out Pretend is a small press run by Erin Klassen that focuses on telling women’s stories. In addition to their amazing storytelling events, With/out Pretend hosts workshops and puts out gorgeous books, zines, and online content.
