I scream, you scream, we all scream for…popsicles!!!
I think Cy gets this from me. I love popsicles. You know, the cheap “chocolate” ones you find at the bottom of the convenience store freezer stuck to each other and so covered in ice crystals that when you go to split them down the middle they inevitably always crack horizontally? When I was a kid I would scrounge up the nickels and dimes for this daily 40 cent summer treat.
Well, it turns out they are now $1.50 and almost impossible to find. Inflation…
When the temperature started rising, desperate for ways to keep ourselves cool, I wanted to introduce Cy to the joy of summer that is the popsicle. Of course, I don’t really know what’s in them (other than water and sugar) so when I saw this awesome popsicle maker at Williams Sonoma i couldn’t help myself.
Ladies, and gentleman, I present to you: Zoku the Incredible Popsicle Maker!
This little thing is awesomeness in a fun, well-designed package. It’s made of non-stick cast-aluminum that freezes pops almost instantly! You simply store in your freezer and pull it out when you’re ready to make your popsicles. You mix up your choice of juices (you can buy or make your own creations – like choco-coconut!) and even add actual chunks of fruit, like slices of strawberries or kiwis, and then just pour into the molds. 8 minutes later you have ready-to-lick popsicles.
Needless to say, Cy is now obsessed and we can’t even say the word p-o-p-s-i-c-l-e without him throwing a tantrum unless he gets one.
Totally don’t blame him…
