A pop-doc to make us reconsider our obsession with beauty.
Plastic Makes Perfect is back for a second season this fall on Slice! Starring one of SDTC’s favourite comediennes, Debra DiGiovanni as well as journalist and sassy comedienne Sabrina Jalees, Plastic Makes Perfect uses hidden-camera tests, hilarious commentary and real interviews with plastic surgery patients to tackle a series of difficult questions regarding body image.
Will big breasts make you rise to the top at the office? Will that muffin-top coming out of your jeans actually make strangers less helpful towards you? Can a flat stomach lead to a better sex life? Plastic Makes Perfect gives honest answers to questions like these, and talks to people whose beliefs on these subjects have actually led them to undergo cosmetic surgeries.
The show is a witty look at body image concerns for people of all ages and the mainstreaming of plastic surgery in our society. Find out the truth behind common beauty myths–you see what people really think about physical appearance when they’re off the record in hidden-camera experiments. And, it’s not just women’s appearances that are being considered: episodes last season included ” Can Plastic Surgery Turn a Guy from Lonely to Loved?” and ” Are Men One Nip/Tuck Away from Success?” This season, look forward to “The Ass Factor (A Girl’s Biggest Asset?)”, “Tattoos: All Over You” and and “Friend or Foe”, which investigates if your friends and family who really set the standard when it comes to you feeling beautiful.
Get some perspective and have a laugh: the new season premieres next Monday, September 7th on Slice.
