Do you love astronomy and space exploration?
Join other galactic enthusiasts at Burdock (1184 Bloor St. W.) this Saturday, January 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. for Solar System Social, a space-themed speaker series that presents exciting ideas and research from the field of planetary science in the form of short, informative talks.
This edition will feature a presentation by astrophysicist, educator, and musician Dr. Matt Russo titled “The Music of the Spheres (Now For Human Ears!),” which explores the deep connection between music and astronomy. Kristen Cote, who worked as the mechanical team co-lead of the AlbertaSat group that designed, built and launched a small cube satellite last year, will give a talk on the project, Joel Buxton will perform a space-themed comedy set, and host David Hamilton will discuss the search for life on Mars. All talks last twenty minutes and audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
Tickets are $9 in advance or $20 at the door.
