Explore the relationship between music, poetry, and the visual arts this winter at Listening to Art, Seeing Music.
Opening this Saturday, January 20th, and running through April 8th at the Aga Khan Museum (77 Wynford Dr.), Listening to Art, Seeing Music features ten immersive, museum-wide soundscapes and video installations that combine music from the Mediterranean, Syria, Turkey, Iran and Central Asia with Middle Eastern instruments and other artifacts from the museum’s permanent collection. Among the exhibition’s highlights is a cozy Mongolian yurt located in the central courtyard, where visitors will be able to watch pop-up performances, hear stories and enjoy a warm cup of tea.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for students, and $10 for children, but you’ll be able to explore the exhibition (plus storytelling sessions, film screenings, giveaways and more!) for free this Saturday and Sunday as part of Welcome Weekend.
