Join local fruit picking initiative Not Far From The Tree this Sunday, September 16 in celebrating Toronto’s urban fruit harvest.
Taking place at the apple orchard on the grounds of the Spadina Museum (285 Spadina Rd.), City Cider is an event packed full of fun for all ages. Enjoy a picnic on the lawns surrounded by gardens, a hard cider bar from Ontario Cideries, live local music, and a wide variety of lawn games and kids activities. Guests are also invited to help hand-press apples to turn them into fresh cider.
Participating food and cider vendors include Montgomery’s, Her Father’s Cider Bar & Kitchen, Sweet&Shy, Black Oak Brewing Co., Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, Brickworks and Thornbury Village Cider House.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate, and include a free tour of the Spadina Museum. All proceeds from City Cider support Not Far From The Tree’s fruit picking and sharing program, which works with Toronto homeowners to distribute fruit to local food banks, shelters and community kitchens.
