Formed by a group of notable Toronto photographers, SOFIA (Society of Females in Art) hosted their inaugural group show, Bad Behaviour, last week at Artscape Youngplace. The show is part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, and features work by Anya Chibis, Regina Garcia, Angela Lewis, Kerry Shaw, May Truong, Brooke Wedlock, Michelle Yee, and Raina Kirn. The exhibit explores our very human tendencies towards behaving badly.
Beyond examining provocative, beautiful prints, we also enjoyed studying the provocative, beautiful guests and the real life women who are both the creators and muses of SOFIA.
SOFIA’s Bad Behaviour runs until June 5th. Take a wander, grab a coffee, and then head to the park to reflect on women, wymin, wimmin, and your badass self.
