The main attraction was the view from the top, as all the beautiful people flocked to the Thompson rooftop this past Tuesday. We were celebrating the relaunch of the online style hub, FASHION NOTES.
Sipping on top-shelf cocktails, and grazing occasionally on beef sliders (if you were a lucky one with a private table), guests were decked out in a dazzling array of colours and patterns.
A curious assortment of fashion people, investment bankers, and media types littered the patio, soaking up in the glitz and glam of being crammed together. Cachet in these parts is everything, it seems. And the more of it you have, the more likely you are to get service at the bar.
Framed renditions of famous designers (and perhaps their even more famous sayings), were available to purchase for $30, while we got word that American brand, Free People, are coming to town. To celebrate this, guests were given small bouquets of cream and periwinkle wildflowers––a touch of bohemian ease that seemed ajar amongst the Windsor knots and immaculately shined Pradas.
Photographers snapped style (including SDTC’s Becca Lemire, see below), and we all schmoozed, taking in the skyscraper altitudes. While staring out at the majestic view of the city, you can pretend like you’re somewhere else––that you’re someone else, or that you’ve already made it to where you want to be.
