When you think of Harry Rosen, you likely think of stockbrokers in suits, handsome grooms, or maybe even dear old Dad. Well, those stereotypes were shattered this past Tuesday when Toronto’s trendiest submerged into the lower level of Harry Rosen on Bloor to sip Peroni and casually shimmy to Juno-nominated rock band Yukon Blonde.
The performance was part of the Harry Underground series that has included past shows by Cuff The Duke and City and Colour. If it weren’t for the racks of Tom Ford and Salvatore Ferragamo, we’d swear we were at The Great Hall or Garrison. Looks like Harry is casting a wider net (see photos).
We left with a fresh copy of Harry: A Magazine for Men by Harry Rosen Menswear. Since menswear is all the rage right now, we brewed some tea and gleaned the pages. Looking at the bright-coloured loafers, Jacob Cohen jeans, and pre-tied bow ties by Dion, we realized our idea of Harry Rosen was seriously outdated. So the only question left is: who will be the lucky gent we get to play dress-up with?
