Give summer a proper send off (and get healthy while doing it) this Sunday at Open Streets TO!
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., car traffic on Bloor from Christie to Parliament, and on Yonge from Bloor to Queen will be replaced by “paved parks” where people of all ages, abilities, and social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds can come out and improve their health. More than 45,000 took part in last year’s pilot program.
Participants can bike, walk, run, or jog along the predetermined route, which will include a number of activity hubs and live performances. This year’s program includes yoga classes, square dancing, a triathalon zone, build-your-own backyard workshop, an oil pastel station, free smoothies from Booster Juice, and much more. There will be no outside vendors, but established businesses along the route will be open.
