Your Sundays just got a whole lot better, because the Christie Pits Film Festival is back for its fifth year!
The pay-what-you-can outdoor screening series will be taking over Christie Pits Park (750 Bloor St. W.) every Sunday night from July 5 to August 16. This year’s theme is “Great Villains,” beginning with a screening of the F.W. Murnau classic horror film, Nosferatu, accompanied by a live, original score by Toronto/Guelph indie band Del Bel. The festival concludes in August with a screening of Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood.
Screenings start at sundown, with eats and treats for sale beginning at 6 p.m. This week’s food vendors are Sugar Mamma’s Mini Donuts, Caplansky’s Deli, and Macchina Mobile Cafe. Make sure to pack a blanket and arrive early to snag the best spot.
