Osheaga announced the line-up for the seventh edition of the summer music fest yesterday, and it is BANANAS!
The 2012 edition features headliners Black Keys, Snoop Dogg, Justice, Metric, Sigur Ros and, my personal favourite, Feist.
After a pretty ‘meh’ line-up last year (sorry, Eminem and Flaming Lips fans), I’d say Osheaga is back in fine form. They’re doing what they do best: serving up hot acts (ASAP Rocky, The Weeknd), alongside plenty of solid Can- & QuebCon (Plants and Animals, City and Colour, Austra), and a healthy sprinkling of Scottish bands you love but sort of forgot about (Franz Ferdinand and Garbage – who will be releasing their first new album in 7 years, ‘Not Your Kind of People’ on May 15.)
The three-day fest goes down Friday August 3rd, Saturday August 4th and Sunday August 5th. For all you out-of-towners who benefit from the civic holiday on Monday August 6th, this means you can party hard till Sunday and spend Monday getting back home, all the while dreaming of Dan Auerbach’s beard glistening in the sweltering Montreal night.
Osheaga tickets go on sale this Friday March 23rd at noon. Three-day passes start at $217.50. Single-day passes will go on sale at a later date, subject to availability following the sale of three-day passes. Tickets will be available online or in person, at the Bell Centre Box Office, 1909 avenue des Canadiens de Montréal.
