We asked our resident health & wellness columnist, Holistic Nutritionist Mandy King to create three easy smoothie recipes using greens+. Glowing Berry Breakfast Smoothie
- 1 cup mixed frozen berries
- 1 cup of coconut milk, unsweetened
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- 1/4 cup of hemp hearts
- 1 scoop greens+ or Vegan greens+ O (mixed berry)
- Optional: 1 scoop Genuine Health Vegan proteins+
- 1 cup mixed frozen berries
This breakfast smoothie is chock full of nutrition! Blueberries area a great source of antioxidants and just one cup of raspberries contains 1/3 of your daily fibre. The healthy fats, Omega 3s, in flaxseed and hemp hearts are beautifying ingredients and key ingredients for glowing skin! Adding greens+ ensures you get your daily dose of greens, important for so many reasons.
Post Workout Hydrator
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1/2 cup frozen peach
- 1 small piece fresh ginger
- 1 cup coconut water, unsweetened
- 1 scoop greens+ or Vegan greens+ O (tangerine)
This hydrating post workout smoothie helps nourish your muscles. The coconut water will help replenish your electrolytes from sweating, and the ginger is naturally anti-inflammatory to balance the inflammation from exercise.
Guilt-less Chocolate Snack
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 1 Tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 cup almond milk, unsweetened
- 1 scoop greens+ or Vegan greens+ O (plain flavour)
When the afternoon cookie or chocolate craving arrives, this is the perfect healthy alternative. The raw cacao is high in magnesium, good for stress reduction, and the almond butter is a great non-dairy source of calcium.
