The other day my parents told me a story about how one time at an auction, they were unknowingly bidding against each other for the same painting (needless to say it now hangs in their house). They were going back and forth for quite some time before some of their friends realized who the bidders were. Laughs were had by all. Bottom line: Auctions are fun! And funny! And you can get cool stuff.
Of A Kind, a great little vintage, antique, and vinyl shop at 1037 College St., is holding an auction this Sunday, July 28! It’s free, and they’ll be offering cocktails, buck-a-shuck oysters, and other food provided by the upcoming Parkdale restaurant Geraldine. There will be a preview from 5pm to 6pm, and then the auction will run from 6pm to 9pm with several breaks for snacks. What fun! You can go as a participant or a spectator, but either way, be sure to put on your fancy pants. Fancy pants!
