Spend any time around new parents, and you’ll know that sleep is a loaded subject. This state (which unites us all) can mean the difference between an incredible day or one where you feel like death warmed over.
U of T’s Art Museum is hosting Night of Ideas: To Sleep Or Not To Sleep this Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Hart House (7 Hart House Circle). All participants are encouraged to come in PJs, nightcaps, bathrobes, housecoats – and bring your swimsuits. Be prepared for a sleep mask workshop, musical performances, a PJ fashion show, conversations with artists, writers, philosophers, historians, neuroscientists and other restless minds about dreams, the meaning of downtime, why we sleep, sleep deprivation, the power of light and much more. Indulge in a night swim, bar, DJs, food, film and audio presentations – all capped off with a morning espresso at the crack of dawn.
This event is free and open to all. Get the full schedule here.
