Bicycle Film Festival/Hammer Time @ Cinema du Parc, 3575 Avenue du Parc. Brendt Barbur founded the Bicycle Film Festival in 2001 after he was hit by a bus while riding his bike in New York City. The Montreal edition of the BFF will present two days of programming at Cinema du Parc. Check out the listings, get your pass ($10/program, $23 for a festival pass), drop off your ride with the FREE BIKE VALET and enjoy close to 30 shorts and mid-length films from around the world, all devoted to the glories of the two-wheeler.

Your BFF ticket stub earns you free entry to the BFF official party, Hammer Time @ Katacombes, 1635 St. Laurent, corner Ontario on September 1st from 10pm-3am. $5 entry without stub.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 1

10am-Midnight. Midnight Madness @ Mortimer Snodgrass, 56 Notre-Dame O. To mark the end of summer, our fave Montreal gift shop Mortimer Snodgrass hosts a massive all-day sale and fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. Ridiculous sales will take place all day, including a $1, $5, and $10 table. Select regular items will be drastically reduced in-store AND online for the day. Montrealité is contributing free t-shirts: show MS your signed organ donor card and be entered to win a free shirt. Food starts after 6pm, with catering by Maison Gourmet RL, and special surprises happen between 9pm and midnight. Free balloons for kids too!

1pm. Fashion Bike Ride @ Parc Jeanne-Mance. Citizen Vintage, Fitz & Follwell, Bikurious and Pabst Blue Ribbon want you to show them your best cycling street style in a friendly fashion face-off and mass ride to the Bicycle Film Festival screening of “Bike Stories.”

Get some inspiration, gather a crew, give yourselves a clever fashion gang name, and cruise down to the BFF in style! Photographers will be on site to snap the best dressed, and pics will be posted online after the event, where you’ll be able to vote for your favourite looks! Prizes for best dressed include 1st prize: $100 gift certificates from Citizen Vintage and Fitz & Follwell; 2nd prize: $50 gift certificates from Citizen Vintage and Bikurious; and 3rd prize: $25 gift certificate from Citizen Vintage.

FREE beer will be provided at the park care of PBR. BYO snacks, in order to comply with Montreal’s public drinking laws…It’s the perfect excuse for a picnic! Everyone departs from Parc Jeanne-Mance en masse at 2:15pm SHARP for the red carpet arrival at Cinema du Parc. Buy your tickets for the 3pm film screening of “Bike Stories” ahead of time online.
