Nuit Blanche, Montreal Highlight Festival’s non-stop, multi-event, pan neighbourhood all-night party happens this Saturday, Feb 26 until the wee hours of Feb 27. The city will be awash with music concerts, dance shows, visual art exhibitions, performances, straight-up parties, and a few quirky activities, such as:
–Grimes + Palimpsest Launch + Architecture Tours @ Canadian Centre for Architecture (1920 rue Baile) The CCA hosts a concert from Montreal-based artist Grimes, as well as a launch by Palimpsest, a special visit by Kaleidoscope magazine from Milan, and guided bus tours in partnership with l’Ordre des Architectes du Québec. Enjoy free hot chocolate from the ice bar and dance into the night with DJ Annie Q. Free. 2pm-2am.
-Pottery Painting @ Céramic Café-Studio (4338 St Denis) – Insomniac potters, this one’s for you! $25 admission for an evening of pottery painting and nosh. Paint a plate, a bowl or a mug, and stay till 6 in the morning, if you like! Admission includes a sandwich (or a piece of cake) and coffee or tea. $25. 8pm-6am.
-The Stories that Came in from the Cold @ Gallimard Bookstore (3700 St Laurent) – Head to Gallimard Bookstore to read or listen to stories that hail from wintry countries. Mulled wine will be served. Free. 8pm-3am.
–You Are Not Alone @ Cagibi (5490 St Laurent) – Le Cagibi and Ghost Town, MB present an evening of multi-disciplinary pieces. Artists Francesca Tallone, Jessica Faulds, Amy MacDonald, Jacqueline Lachance and others will exhibit works in photography, music, dance, film and theatre. Free. 8pm-6am.
-Subwoofer @ The Rialto Theatre (5723 Parc Avenue) The Armatta gallery fires up the subwoofers for some hot, hazy, and humid house music spun by a selection of DJs. Free. 10pm-3am.
To help carousers get from one activity or neighbourhood to the next, a free shuttle service will connect all the activities, and the Métro will remain open all night.
