Divers/Cité @ mainly Quai Jacques-Cartier, but a few other venues around town, too. Montreal’s foremost gay pride festival, Divers/Cité, begins this week and goes through Sunday with numerous concerts, film screenings, foodie experiences, and more. THURSDAY AUGUST 1

10pm. Stacks o’ Wax, Sex and Salad Edition @ Nouveau Palais, 281 Bernard West.  Head out to Nouveau Palais to hear/witness everything from “screaming R&B” to funk with DJs Jayne and J. Cleveland. Come for the food and drinks, stay for the beatz!

FRIDAY AUGUST 2 UNTIL SUNDAY AUGUST 4

Osheaga @ Parc Jean-Drapeau, île Sainte-Hélène. This weekend marks the 8th year of Montreal’s largest music festival, Osheaga. It is almost entirely sold-out, with an estimated 127,000 visitors expected over the course of the three days. Montreal hotels are completely booked up—we’ve actually never seen anything like it! Headliners include Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, The Cure, Beck, Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar, Stars, Phoenix, and so, so many more. View the full line-up here. SATURDAY AUGUST 3

11:30pm. Osheaga After Party @ Théâtre Corona, 2490 Notre-Dame West. A post-Osheaga dance party hosted by Virgin Mobile, and featuring Toronto’s Azari & III and SEXLIFE. Tickets are $17 plus fees, and can be ordered here; check out the full list of pre- and post-Osheaga parties happening around town this weekend while you’re at it!

11:30pm. MEG Montreal Boat Cruise @ leaving from Quai Jacques-Cartier, Old Port. Montreal’s Festival Electronic Groove (MEG) began on July 25 and runs until Saturday, August 3, culminating in this fantastically timed (post-Osheaga) DJ’d boat cruise down the St. Lawrence. The line-up includes The Hacker (FR), Zombie Nation (DE), Bordello (CA), and Thomas Von Party (CA). Full details available on the event page; tickets here.

SUNDAY AUGUST 4
