GET EXCITED: Come As You Are’s annual Erotic Arts and Crafts Fair is fast approaching! To tide us over until Saturday, we’ve decided to profile three vendors whose crafts we adore.
Chason Yeboah, Craftyy Chas
SDTC: How long have you been crafting and what’s your very favourite thing to make?
CY: I have been crafting for most of my life, but have been crocheting for a little over six years. My very favourite thing to make is dolls. I love creating little humans because I can never get bored doing it, the possibilities are endless! More specifically I love making their genitals, and creating the faces.
What can we expect to find at your booth on Saturday?
This year you can expect to find anatomically correct, nude crocheted dolls at my booth. They represent my perception of reality. This collection includes Trans folks/dual-genitalia, amputees, mastectomy survivors, vitiligo, hair loss, large people, very dark skin, underweight people, scars, a large range of skin tones, and they are all nude!
Aside from the The Erotic Arts and Crafts Fair where else can we purchase your work?
You can currently find some of my dolls at the Keep6 Toronto website. There will be an Etsy account under the name CraftyyChas arriving shortly! You can also find me on Insta and Facebook, and you can email me at craftyychas@gmail.com for custom orders.
Michelle Gauthier Art
SDTC: How long have you been making art and what’s your very favourite thing to make?
MG: I’ve been making art since I was 13 (so about 12 years) but I’ve been crafting for almost four years now. My favourite things to make are the custom skin tone vulvas where I hand paint the fabric, as well as any embroidery piece that I can also paint in.
What can we expect to find at your booth on Saturday?
This year I’ll be bringing my custom skin tone vulvas, both mini and full sized framed penises and vulvas, a few christmas ornaments that I have left, some flower crowns, necklaces, and some limited edition prints too!
Aside from the Erotic Arts and Crafts Fair, where else can we purchase your work?
My work can be purchased from my Etsy shop, or through me directly via my website or email: themichellegauthier@gmail.com
