How are you preparing for TIFF right now?
By getting the work done, getting some sleep (not working so far), taking Omega 3s (not sure why), making sense of the schedule, making recommendations, reading our HR policy about stalking, etc.
During TIFF, where would we most likely find you at 2PM? At 2AM?
2pm: Introducing a film probably
2am: at the police station. Just kidding, but definitely behind a bar.
What has been your most memorable TIFF party to date? Why?
It was last year, it was a combination of parties in one evening – going from one part of the town to the next, from the Italian party to various receptions to a party for a Canadian film, with amazing friends/colleagues and guests. In fact I remember none of it but I’m sure it was fun.
What’s your celebrity story, or moment, that gets rehashed most at dinner parties?
I’d say my time with Mads Mikkelsen. I wasn’t sure if I could even admit it at the office, knowing the intense devotion of some of my colleagues for him…
What are three things you need to survive during TIFF?
-my schedule
-energy drinks
-bail money
What film are you looking forward to most this year?
Of the ones I haven’t seen, Notre jour viendra (Romain Gravas), Armadillo (Janus Metz), The Edge (Alexey Uchitel). And many more.
What party are you most excited about this year?
Our Canadian party is always excellent.
If you could pick the brain of one filmmaker, who would it be?
This year: Catherine Breillat and Jorgen Leth, because of the type of films they make.
If you could grab a drink with one celeb who is attending TIFF this year, who would you choose?
Catherine Deneuve. And more than one drink hopefully.
What’s the first thing you’ll do once TIFF is over?
Enter a brief phase of depression. Also: be featured on Intervention.
