This Thursday, December 13, from 7-10pm, the neighbourhood of Lower Roncesvalles will come alive with holiday cheer for the LoRo Block Party LoRo Block Party. The awesome boutiques along Roncey that reside south of Galley Avenue will offer special discounts, treats, yummy hot beverages, family-friendly entertainment, and probably a few surprises.

We got in the know while hanging out at Mrs. Huizenga’s lavishly HUGE new location (28 Roncesvalles Ave), a few blocks south on Roncey of where it used to be. Die-hard thrifters will have noticed the Goodwill that once was at Queen & Roncey is now gone, sad face emoticon. There was some darned good finds at that spot. But fear not!! Lovely vintage haven Mrs. Huizenga’s has taken over.

“Now on the threshold of high Parkdale” and “selling nice things to nice people since 2005,” you can score tons of amazing finds in the new spot, with vintage clothing, housewares, old cameras, furniture, and organic beauty products. We even spied a vintage table hockey game! The perfect gift for the die-hard hockey fan in your life. Mrs. Huizenga’s also boasts a selection of cute-as-can-be baby items, perfect for the young families in the neighbourhood.
