Want to add a touch of light and colour to your living space? Next Saturday at Likely General, Paula Hartmann will show you how to make a traditional Polish paper craft called pajaki, which translates to “spiders of straw.”
Made to decorate the house and bring happiness and good fortune to the owner, these beautiful chandeliers are made of rye straw, paper discs and colourful tissue paper. At this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to build the structure of the chandelier and different ways to create beautiful paper flowers and pompoms, which are the centrepiece of every pajak. By using different colours and techniques to fold the paper, every pajak becomes a unique piece of art.
Pajaki workshop runs on May 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Likely General (389 Roncesvalles Ave). Grab your ticket here.
