VRROOOOOOMMMMM. Nothing heralds the sound of spring like the growl of a motorcycle engine. And if leather and the open road are your thing, then you’ll definitely want to check out Danny Lyon: The Bikeriders, opening May 11th at Stephen Bulger Gallery on Queen West.
Danny Lyon is a legendary documentary photographer from the 60s, and this exhibition captures the era’s motorcycle culture. Lyon himself rode a Triumph, and the book that also features these photographs, The Bikerider, was the mainstream’s first introduction to the world of motorcycles.
To accompany the show at Stephen Bulger, there will be screenings of Lyon’s films down the street at Camera. We say, throw on your favourite leather jacket, head to the show, then grab a beer at the Caddy and fantasize about life on the highway.
The Bikeriders opens May 11th and ends June 15th at Stephen Bulger Gallery, 1026 Queen St W.
