On Thursday May 6, at 4PM EST, Shedoesthecity’s Editor-in-Chief Jen McNeely will join award-winning actor and singer Bronagh Gallager, who will be tuning in from Dublin, to chat about her incredible new film A Bump Along The Way, a messy motherhood story we’ve never seen on screen before. 

Pamela is a boozy 44-year-old single mother whose teenage daughter Allegra disapproves of her care-free lifestyle. Their fragile relationship is further tested when Pamela becomes pregnant after a one-night stand.

Expect a conversation that touches on the themes of motherhood, being over forty, alcohol, having kids late in life (known as geriatric pregnancy in Canada), comedy, film, and what pandemic life looks like in Northern Ireland! 

So much of the marketing for Mother’s Day is soft, pretty, and pink. We’re going gritty, wading into the grey, and exploring dark humour….but we will still have flowers!
