Although it’s tempting to hibernate during the winter, I inevitably find myself bearing the great outdoors on the coldest day of the year. Thankfully, because of a few of my favorite products, my skin doesn’t hate me for it. Below are my three secrets for surviving the winter season:
1. I love Tarte’s Pure Maracuja Oil. It’s packed with essential fatty acids, which is a great help when your face is drier than rock due to overly aggressive wind gusts. Put it on at night or in the morning under a primer to nourish your skin all throughout the day. This non-greasy formula won’t make your skin look oily—just allow some time for it to absorb into the skin before throwing on your makeup. It comes in 3 different sizes—but I’d recommend trying it out for the first time with the medium-sized bottle.
2. When my lips start to crack, the first thing I do is exfoliate. This DIY scrub is awesome to get rid of those pesky skin flakes that keep your lips from looking supple. After you exfoliate, slather on some of Eve Pearl’s Lip Treatment—you won’t regret it. It’s packed with Astaxanthin, an ingredient that is 550 times STRONGER than vitamin E—I kid you not. This stuff is being called the most beneficial antioxidant that nature has to offer, and it helps repair skin cells in a flash.
3. As a banana enthusiast, I can’t get enough of Lush’s “Sympathy for the Skin” banana body lotion. They actually mash an organic banana into the mix! The high content of Vitamin A found in bananas is ideal for restoring moisture to dry, damaged and dull skin. Don’t worry, you won’t walk around smelling like a banana (although I wouldn’t mind). Lush blends in vanilla pods, which are an awesome source of essential oils, as well as Cocoa Butter, which helps to condition the skin. Not to mention the vanilla pods provide an irresistible aroma, so you’ll be in scent heaven all day long.
Stay warm, hydrated, and glowing out there, folks!
