Following her tragic death in 1970, her legacy has made an indelible mark in history, with hits spanning three albums. Now, the spirit of Janis lives on with Jan Kudelka’s Janis Joplin’s Birthday Bash, coming to Hugh’s Room (2261 Dundas W) on January 18th.

After experiencing no less than five recurring dreams about Joplin, Kudelka took the hint from the universe and created and performed a multimedia, one-woman play-in-concert entitled Janis/Janus. Janis Joplin’s Birthday Bash is the offspring of that play.
