Italian fashion house Marni, famed for its wild prints and bright colours, is the latest label to collaborate with H&M on an affordable line of clothing for both men and women. Marni joins the list of big-name designers who have produced collections for the cheap n’ chic mass retailer, including Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo and, as of a mere two weeks ago, Versace.
In stores on March 8, 2012, the collection will feature Marni staples, such as, for women, full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped pants and jacquard knits in bold prints and vivid colours. For men, it will be classic pieces in softer colours and more subtle prints. Accessories like jewelry, shoes, bags and scarves will complete the line.
“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements,” says Marni founder and creative director, Consuelo Castiglioni. One more reason why we’re anticipating spring.
