iD, the new show from circus troop Cirque Eloize, unites Quebec’s twin passions: incisive identity politics and somersaulting jesters. iD features the acrobatic antics of 16 artists from 7 different countries. Performers’ background inspired iD’s choreography. Director Jeannot Painchaud explains that iD aims to show how cultural and linguistic barriers are reconciled through “the language of physicality.”
iD will be presented at the Quai du Vieux-Port in Old Montreal from July 8 – 25, as part of Montreal Completement Cirque.
