Bi-Ying Miao and Matt Compeau make jewellery on a 3D printer. The two are constantly pushing the boundaries of their medium, and their new collection debuts an entirely new material: 3D printed wood.

The Boreal Necklace, made of recycled cherry wood and polymer, has an almost visceral curve to its design. And it’s not their only new piece. Also available is the new Platonix collection, made of 3D printed nylon. About the collection, Miao writes, “

As if frozen in dance, the composition and movement of each element is algorithmically generated, deriving countless unique variants of the intricate design.”

The one-of-a kind pieces are available for purchase on HotPopFactory.com. Once one is sold, they’ll replace it with a new design.
