Holy Fuck Frontman on the tangibility of effect pedals and Mexican dives.
By Haley Cullingham
The City Sonic series are films about places where music happens. In the latest installment, Brian Borcherdt, solo artist and frontman for psychedelic electro outfit Holy Fuck, describes his love affair with “divey, Mexican-themed burrito spot” Sneaky Dee’s. Beginning down the street at Ted’s, the Wavelength music night eventually found a home here, and was graced by such talents as Broken Social Scene and Final Fantasy. Borcherdt describes this orgy of Toronto talent by graffiti-ing a flowchart on the wall of Sneak’s, and talks about his own musical genesis as an artist in Toronto.
