Recently, I have been studying a Hawaiian Healing System called “Ho’oponopono. This system works under the pretence that we are a reflection of one another. What we see in someone else is something that needs to be healed in ourselves. A man by the name of Ihaleakala Hew Len, PHd healed almost a whole criminal mental ward at a psychiatric hospital by practicing this Hawaiian technique. He did not work face to face with any of these people. He studied their files and then cleaned/healed whatever it was in himself that he saw in these people by praciting Ho’oponopono, which consists of the following words: I love you. I am sorry. Please Forgive Me. Thank you. Each time a feeling came up in him about the person he was working on, he would repeat this over and over again. Miraculously within two years most of these people were released from the hospital. You can find more information about this technique in authour Joe Vitali’s book, Zero Limits.
As I understand this system, it works like this: if you criticize someone else or make them wrong or judge them in anyway or someone brings up any feelings in you, then you must take full responsibility and heal this in yourself. Whatever it is you are seeing in them is a part of you that needs to be cleaned out, healed and loved. So, for example if your boss is pissing you off and you’re feeling mistreated, this is something that needs to be healed in you not in your boss. You are attracting this person in your life because a part of you is unhealed. By repeating I love you. I am sorry. Please Forgive me. Thank you. you are healing the parts of you that you are seeing in another. You are cleaning your consciousness of the beliefs and thought patterns that create these experiences. It’s very interesting stuff and took me awhile to get my head around. It might sound a little woo woo or strange or weird and it may not make any sense to you as I thought it was crazy when I first heard of it. Even though I didn’t understand it, it piqued my interest and against my better judgement I learned more and more about it and applied it in my daily life.
Weekly Empowerment Recipe: This week, give it a whirl. Each time you catch yourself judging another criticizing someone, making them wrong and/or doing this to yourself, repeat these words over and over again. I love you. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. (It doesn’t even matter if you mix the sentences up)
Weekly Empowerment Affirmation: I love you. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.
