RIDM enters its second week of screenings, with more than 100 docs being shown over ten days. In addition to the huge variety of interesting films, numerous workshops, lounge parties, and lectures provide a great networking opportunity for aspiring Montreal filmmakers! THURSDAY
Hansen @ Club Soda
Nearly 15 years (oh god, they’re making us all seem so old) after their 1997 international hit ‘Mmmbop’, Hansen is back in khaki, all fresh-faced and grown-up. Following the release of their eighth album in June, Hansen wipe-out their former tweeny boy band image for a more mature sound.

Affordable Art for the Season of Gift-Giving @ Galerie Rye
Over 30 artists will be exhibiting at one of Galerie Rye’s biggest vernissage yet. Running through December 19, 2010, all art on display will be reasonably priced – from $20 to $300 – for your holiday gift-giving pleasure. Friday’s opening night festivities will feature eggnog and cookies!

Geek OUT! @ Burritoville
Battleship, crochet, RISK, felting, Mexican food – only a parcel of the things you’ll be able to indulge your inner nerd with at Burritoville’s dorkiest, sort-of-monthly celebration: Geek OUT! Play, craft, eat and chat your little geeky heart out for an afternoon with like-minded Montrealers!

Head and Hands 40th Anniversary Gala @ Rialto Theatre
Montreal’s Head and Hands are celebrating 40 years of community involvement with a glamorous gala at the exquisite Rialto Theatre. A silent auction, live photo booth and refreshments will be complimented with live performances by Socalled and the Matthew Daher Jazz Trio.
