Seeing as summer is around the corner, it’s a great time to give our systems a li’l’ clean out! Today, I’d like to share with you a kick ass smoothie recipe. A fresh, green, detoxifying one. Delicious, nutritious and great after, ahem, an evening of drinks and dancing.
Detoxifying Green Juice!
1- 1 ½ c. of fresh kale (stems removed and chopped)
1 granny smith apple (roughly chopped)
1/2 c of fresh parsley
1 ripe banana OR 1 c fresh pineapple (yummers)
2 tsp. minced fresh ginger
1 tsp gr. flax
1/2 tsp. bee pollen
Blend with water, if too thick add more water until desired texture!
Benefits of these ingredients:
Kale: Full of antioxidants, fiber and keeps our livers healthy
Green apples: Packed with fiber and nutrient-dense
Parsley: Has antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and anti-cancer benefits
Bee Pollen: Source of vitality and can lower allergies (if from a local organic source)
Ground Flax Seeds: A great source of fiber (insoluble and soluble) and omega 3s (great for healthy hearts)
Yum, green and lean! For any additional smoothie or juicing recipes, feel free to email me at foodie.bies@gmail.com, or comment below!
